As part of the company's continued expansion, we are looking for a skilled developer with a passion for DevOps practices to play a significant role in our tracking department to help structure and implement the infrastructure and tools needed to support the growth in the department.
In addition to taking part in implementing new features for our sports tracking products that combine radar and computer vision, you will take a lead on ensuring that we are developing software in the best possible way by helping to create build pipelines, automated test setups, and looking for build speed optimizations to name a few examples.
You will work with gifted colleagues from a range of backgrounds, all working on developing the tracking software that is the core of what Trackman does. You will be joining a skilled team responsible for a broad range of tasks and tools all centered around building robust production-ready tracking systems and making the infrastructure that makes it possible to effectively do this. We are a group passionate about quality code and driving initiatives to continuously mature and improve how we develop software in the tracking department. We value everyone pitching in with their ideas and leading the way in championing best practices for systems design and architecture, automated testing, code structure, and CI/CD amongst many others.
The ideal candidate
We look for candidates who are passionate about DevOps with a focus on the Dev part and who can be a driver of continuous improvements in this domain. You will most likely have a background as a developer in either C++ or Python in addition to hands-on DevOps experience and can use those skills both to develop new features and bring insights into how code or build setups could be structured in the most effective way.
We are always looking for new improvements and finding the areas where the most gains can be made so would value someone with a similar mindset and drive for high quality software.
You have demonstrated skills in a DevOps engineer role or as a developer with a significant DevOps focus. You have experience with configuring and maintaining build pipelines and build servers – we work with Azure so experience with this stack is a plus. You know how code and repos can be structured efficiently and can assist others with designing and implementing new and more modular code setups. In the department, we work mainly in Python and C++ so experience in either of these is highly recommended. Knowledge of both is a plus.
We have come a long way, but we set the bar high and there are lots more DevOps tools and practices we want to implement and would like our new colleague to be part of driving, so besides being strong technically - having an ambition for how software should be developed and knowledge of implementing processes conducive to high-quality code is a big asset in this role.
You probably have experience with several of the topics below:
- Build Pipelines (Azure/Jenkins/Github/Gitlab) and Classic CI/CD good practices
- Setting up and working with Code Quality and Security Vulnerability Code Scanners Setup like Sonarcube or Blackduck
- Build Systems (Tox, CMake/Conan, or similar) with knowledge of Compilation/Linking Basics and Software Packaging.
