Claimy - Senior Data Engineer (Go & Python)

Company Presentation

Claimy is a tech platform for music publishers, which aims to become a leading organisation in music rights tracking. To fulfil such an ambitious mission, two main levers have been identified:

  • perform automated & large-scale rights computation across multiple channels (radio, TV, streaming services, YouTube & UGC videos) and types of rights (mechanicals, performing, neighbouring)
  • build a combination of AI technologies to detect modified audio (covers of works, remixes, sped-ups, transposition, reels, shorts, samples, etc.), corresponding to the most difficult music rights to claim.

It all started in 2023, when three coworkers in France’s success-story music scaleup, MWM, decided to embark on their own entrepreneurial adventure, following a passion they had already expressed as DJs. After 150+ interviews of professionals across the industry and its multiple facets (labels, publishers, producers, distributors, DSPs, collection societies, etc.), the problem is well identified: every year, around 30% of music royalties are wrongly distributed, or not at all.

One year later:

  • the product is live with a dozen French publishers beta-testing what music rights tracking 2.0 looks like.
  • rights computation is performed daily for Radio, TV and Spotify.
  • the company has partnered with France’s leading research lab in audio signal processing, Telecom Paris, to sponsor a PhD candidate.

Such success comes with new challenges, one being building the right team to carry out our mission further.
