Job Summary:

Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.

In this role you will work with a team of skilled Software Engineers who are designing, developing, and maintaining next-generation satellite mission software onsite in our Aurora, CO location. This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Perform software development of large-scale software solutions.
  • Perform development of automated unit and functional tests

Clearance / Citizenship Requirements:

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior, relevant experience, OR an advanced STEM degree and 3+ years of prior, relevant experience.
  • Experience with software development using Python and C++.
  • Experience developing automated unit and functional tests.
  • Experience with one or more of the following software tools: Eclipse, Pycharm, Junit, Artifactory, Confluence, Cucumber, Eggplant, Gherkin, Jenkins, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Jira, Gradle, OR Git
  • Experience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environment.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the following: PNT and JPL interfaces, unit and automated functional testing
  • Experience using APIs (REST, JSON, SOAP)
  • Experience with unit and automated functional test concepts
  • Previous experience working with satellite ground system software or satellite GPS software desirable but not necessary

This position is onsite at our campus in spectacular Aurora, CO. The campus is surrounded by 91 miles of walking and hiking trails, including the nearby High Line Canal Trail. As Colorado's third largest city after Denver and Colorado Springs, Aurora is also the most diverse with over 100 parks, six public golf courses, wildlife habitats, historical structures, conservation centers, landmarks, art centers, libraries, shopping malls, and cultural centers.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
