Job Description

Our client is one of the world’s largest sources of funding for developing countries, working in close partnership with other multilateral institutions, the private sector, and civil society. For their offices in Sofia, we are looking for a Risk & Compliance expert, with Python.

Responsibilities

  • In close coordination with overseas-based team members, support the overall implementation of the Compliance program from Sofia, Bulgaria.
  • Maintain, review, and improve the 1,000+ pre-trade rules in Bloomberg’s Compliance Manager (CMGR) and ensure Investment Guidelines, internal policies, restrictions, and limits are reflected accurately and timely.
  • On a daily basis, monitor, investigate, and resolve any exceptions triggered.
  • Support the successful implementation of new clients and growth of existing clients, including complex investment mandates.
  • Develop and maintain reconciliation and control reports to ensure data used for pre-trade monitoring is up to and accurate.
  • Conduct due diligence on new non-standard requirements in draft Investment mandates to ensure the systems can support and monitor these requirements.
  • Interact with IT colleagues to capture business requirements and technical specifications to develop modern system solutions, such as to enhance the Client's operational risk reporting, Bloomberg AIM platform, and others as necessary.
  • Collaborate with trading counterparts to meet their Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and respond to KYC requests promptly.

Candidate Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or Computer Science, or a Bachelor's degree with the additional post-degree relevant experience.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant post-degree experience (for the Master's degree), or at least five (5) years of experience (for the Bachelor's degree) in asset management compliance, financial risk management, or pre-trade investment surveillance.
  • Proven knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python) and data visualization tools (Power BI and Tableau).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and ability to communicate well at all levels with technical as well as non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements Considered as a Plus (Not Required)

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the asset management industry, trading floor technology (Bloomberg, Tradeweb, Markit, etc.), and standard business practices.
  • Finance or Treasury-related certifications (CFA, FRM, PRM, or other equivalent).
