Python Developer / Systems Engineer III

Overview

As a Platform Engineer, you will lead a team of developers within a top health system, focusing on product development and continuous improvement to enhance the US healthcare industry.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Collaborate with Product Management, UX/UI designers, and Software Engineers to create consumer-grade experiences. Engage in daily standups and liaise with senior leadership.
• Domain Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with market trends and technologies to deliver innovative products. Understand and leverage relevant software libraries, devices, and frameworks.
• System Integrations: Utilize APIs and data to ensure seamless user experience. Develop integration plans and communicate with solution vendors.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in programming languages for front end and back end. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Product Development & Prototypes: Build mobile-first web and native applications in an agile environment. Deliver high-quality output on time and within budget.

Qualifications for Internal Candidates

• Senior software engineer with 7+ years of product development experience
• Required: Computer Science or equivalent degree, technical/team lead experience

Technical Competencies

• Fluent in Python (Flask, Alembic, Celery)
• Proficient in cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, and DevOps on AWS/GCP/Azure
• Experience with GIT source control system using feature branches
• Knowledge of Database systems: SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL (Mongo, Dynamo/DataStore)
• Familiarity with web and security technologies: DNS, HTTPS, SSO, SAML OAuth
• Experience in integrating complex systems and API design

Bonus points for integrating with healthcare systems using FHIR/HL7 or Epic APIs, or working at a startup in the technology and/or healthcare sector.
