Lead Software Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and implement software applications using Python, SAS, and SQL.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design efficient solutions.
  • Provide advisement and instruction to a team of software engineers with similar expertise as needed.
  • Convert code between Python, SAS, and SQL to support data processing and analytics tasks.
  • Optimize and integrate software applications with cloud services and platforms.
  • Conduct code reviews, identify and resolve technical issues, and ensure code quality and performance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in software engineering and cloud computing.
  • Ensure code is optimized to reduce cloud compute costs by following best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years working as a Software Engineer, with expertise in Python, SAS, SQL.
  • 2+ years working on open-source software deployed in a public cloud environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data processing, analytics, and database concepts.
  • Experience using Google Cloud Platform's BigQuery.
  • Strong ability to convert code between Python, SAS, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $124,372.50 - $247,200.00
