As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Line of Business, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. We are looking for a Lead Engineer to help drive our data ingestion and processing application which currently drives Product Agility Tools' Agility Metrics component. Agility Metrics is used firm-wide to measure and guide improvements for team productivity.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Initiates tasks, independently takes initiative in driving assignments to completion and solving problems without the need for escalation
  • Builds and executes necessary test cases which rigorously test developed code
  • Proactively researches and develops new technologies, services, solutions, etc.
  • Proactively identifies gaps in all processes, procedures, monitors, alerts, designs, etc. and provides recommendations on how to resolve
  • Works closely with stakeholders throughout delivery of solutions
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Experience in ETL process, tools/infra for ETL process, involved challenges
  • Experience in Python (Django framework) and TDD (Test Driven Development)
  • Proficiency in RDBMS Concepts specifically for Oracle, PL/SQL, query profiling and Optimization with 8+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in micro service architecture using Message Queue/Broker/Celery/Kafka and APIs
  • Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, application resiliency and security
  • Fair knowledge of Atlassian's Jira and related Database schema
  • Understanding of and exposure to AWS Cloud Infrastructure and tools/infra for ETL process
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with ability to work in common framework like Scrum/Kanban

Should be able to mentor and guide other team members in the team
