Engineering Manager Role
As an engineering manager at Canonical, the primary responsibility is to support the team, ensuring their growth as engineers, valuable work, and a great experience at Canonical. This role requires technical and management skills, as well as representation of the team in direct partner engagement. The manager also focuses on stability, functionality, and automated delivery of Ubuntu image products for modern workloads.

- Build and lead a team of engineers
- Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development
- Demonstrate engineering principles and contribute toward team goals
- Set and manage expectations with other teams and stakeholders
- Lead modern, agile software development practices
- Ensure a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
- Engage with various teams at Canonical and the open source community
- Build automated, highly reliable image delivery, testing, and publication pipelines
- Work from home with global travel up to 15% for internal and external events
Requirements

- Experience and commitment to agile development methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar
- Software development experience in Python or Golang
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Practical experience with at least one of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS
