Job Summary:
Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into usable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.
In this role you will work onsite with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Perform software development of large-scale software solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- 2 years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to Software Engineering, development, and implementation.
- 2 years of experience with object-oriented software development using a combination of C++ / Python.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work satellite GPS software desirable
- Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.

This position is onsite at our campus in spectacular Aurora, CO. The campus is surrounded by 91 miles of walking and hiking trails, including the nearby High Line Canal Trail. As Colorado's third largest city after Denver and Colorado Springs, Aurora is also the most diverse with over 100 parks, six public golf courses, wildlife habitats, historical structures, conservation centers, landmarks, art centers, libraries, shopping malls, and cultural centers. The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
