Backend Engineer (Python, AWS) with DevOps Proficiency

Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Python backend engineer with strong DevOps skills to work for a niche cyber-security consulting company. In this role, you will be working as a Backend Engineer with technologies such as Python, AWS alongside a talented and experienced team developing the next Security Operation Center, enabling network defenders to rapidly respond to escalating cyber attacks. You will be working on a detection automation platform that uses attack detection analytics, and machine learning operations with the most effective AI solutions. Your contributions will help customers accelerate the detection and investigation of network breaches, and hunt down intruders already inside their enterprise networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate services hosted in AWS.
• Work with our Detection Automation, Data Science, Attack Detection teams to build, deploy applications, data services, and data pipelines for meeting customer needs.
• Design, code, and test applications, data services, and data pipelines.
• Ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
• Implement solutions and pipelines from product requirements.
• Familiar with the challenges of architecting at scale.

Requirements

• You are proficient in Python and AWS services.
• You are able to pick up other systems quickly.
• Are familiar with distributed data stores, Snowflake, Splunk, S3, as well as relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• You have experience with cloud and know what it takes to architect, deploy, and maintain such services.
• Knowledge of Docker, Scripting, Linux, CI/CD, Database management is a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher and 2+ years of professional experience as a back-end developer/engineer.
• You love to dig in, prototype, build, test, and see projects through to production.
• Prompting engineering skills; OpenAI/ChatGPT API, LangChain experience is nice to have.
