The Senior Analyst of Data and Analytics Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst of Data and Analytics is responsible for developing and supporting business intelligence solutions. This includes understanding the needs of business stakeholders and translating those needs into enterprise reporting and analytics. Internal compliance controls are always a top priority.
Major Responsibilities
- Subject matter expertise of PowerBI, Python, or other major enterprise reporting tools and Data Science programming languages.
- Design, development, unit testing, system testing, and change management for development, enhancements, and fixes related to enterprise reports and processes.
- Design and development of complex SQL and PL/SQL.
- Create and Maintain PowerBI data flows, Power Automate pipelines, and PowerBI report design and Dashboard creation.
- Provide support to report authors on visualization usage, data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
- Advanced experience with at least one analytics platform (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Sisense, Cognos).
- Collaboration with ETL process owners to understand data movements, including providing detailed business requirements when changes are needed.
- Ad-hoc data access and analysis to support business stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain reporting tool data and data/report security framework.
- Development and publication of relevant technical documentation.
- Management of user issues and ticketing system related to reporting problems.
- Prioritize multiple projects and tasks across different business units.
- Good to have prior experience with retail.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar field of study.
- 4+ years of development experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A solid understanding of key analytics and business intelligence trends.
- Experience in data modeling concepts (e.g., Star Schema and Data Vault).
- Advanced experience with at least one DB platform (e.g., SQL Server, DB2, Oracle or AS400/IBM iSeries) and hands-on experience writing complex SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with at least one ETL platform (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica, DBT).
- Experience with Cognos Analytics is a plus.
- Added advantage using cloud computing to build analytics applications in Azure.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodology is a plus.
Working Conditions
This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.
Physical/Sensory Requirements
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
