Internship Overview
BioFutura is seeking a motivated Python Developer Intern to join our dynamic team. The primary goal of this internship is to develop software that integrates Stanford University’s InVEST models with BioFutura's advanced AI systems. The project will involve integrating satellite and ground-based monitoring datasets to enhance environmental decision-making and sustainability practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the BioFutura leadership team to understand project objectives.
- Develop Python scripts and modules to integrate InVEST models with BioFutura’s AI platform.
- Process and analyze satellite and ground-based monitoring datasets.
- Implement data cleaning, transformation, and validation workflows.
- Create interactive visualizations and dashboards to present model outputs and insights.
- Conduct testing and debugging to ensure software reliability and performance.
- Document code, processes, and methodologies clearly and comprehensively.
- Participate in regular team meetings and provide progress updates.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with scientific libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.
- Experience with geospatial data processing and libraries such as GDAL, Shapely.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.
- Familiarity with InVEST software and environmental modeling is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Passion for environmental sustainability and conservation.
