Optical Engineer/Scientist with Python and C++

Project Description

As a software/optical engineer in our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining control software for our projects in instrumentation. You will be part of a team that will support the integration of novel metrology solutions and communicate design decisions and strategies to a cross-functional team. You will simulate how optical properties of the devices under test can be influenced by manufacturing tolerances of the instrument.

Responsibilities

• Development of lab and factory software for enabling calibration and testing of our products
• Engaging with cross-functional teams of optical engineers and algorithm developers to understand system performance metrics
• Thorough understanding of the calibration process of our instruments
• Quantifying the impact of hardware effects on system performance by executing various experiments
• Documentation of initial proof of concept findings and calibration process
• Bringing clean code software practices to the team and system software

Mandatory Skills Description

Optical concepts knowledge such as lenses, chromatic aberration, optical system modeling, spectroscopy. Programming skills in Python, MATLAB for data analysis. C/C++/Objective C (regular) Knowledge & experience of image processing
