About the role
Our client is looking for a Lead Python Developer to join and lead their growing team of engineers. They are looking for someone who has strong leadership experience, excellent coding ability with Python, as well as a thorough understanding of media workflows having come from an OTT / broadcasting background.
Responsibilities
- Lead, design and develop backend software development projects
- Work closely alongside the Director of Engineering
- Lead and advise the Software Development team to support them with code and resolve any technical issues on the production and development systems
- Implement best practices for software development based on code structures, automated testing and documentation
- Provide mentorship to the team to ensure long term software quality on projects
Requirements
- Proficient in developing software with Python
- Experience working with backend frameworks; Django and Flask
- Prior experience leading a team of Software Development Engineers
- MUST have industry knowledge of Media Workflows having worked in Media / OTT / Broadcasting / video streaming domain
- Understanding of cloud services eg AWS or Azure
