Job Opportunity
Open Systems Technologies Corporation seeks a Senior Python Software Engineer to be 100% onsite in Springfield, VA. Must have Top Secret clearance and be available or willing to take a CI Poly. Must be a strong Python Developer.
Responsibilities
The Senior Python Software Engineer is needed to assist the NGA contract with software engineering support. The engineer will provide services to NGA in the vein of engineering support - including but not limited to Software Engineering, Image Science, Data Analysis, and Data Science.
Required Skills:
- Clearance: Top Secret with the ability to sit for a CI Poly
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related discipline and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Strong Python experience
- Proficiency with popular Python packages
- Strong experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and modern SW best practices, including disciplined source control use, code reviews, unit testing, and establishing “done done” criteria for work
- Strong experience with the Atlassian suite
- Strong Linux experience
- AWS and AWS SDK experience
- SOAP/REST API experience
- Operate as a member of a Kanban team, following Agile practices (backlog grooming, planning)
- Attend team meetings, including scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint planning meetings
- Track assigned tasks in Jira
- Document processes and results on Confluence
- Support tool development, including the development of NGA software tools
- Contribute to NGA’s milestone deliveries.
- Obtain or maintain Security+ certification, utilizing program support hours
- Complete all necessary computer-based training to maintain classified network accounts
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Image Science background is a plus
Additional Details:
- 100% at customer site (Springfield VA)
- Expected core business hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm EST, Monday through Friday; hours are flexible
- All classified work performed by the contractor will be in Springfield, VA. No classified work is to be done outside of the SCIF in this building.
