Senior Automation Engineer - Python

Job Description

Our customer is migrating from Vmware VRA to Cloudbolt and they are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer with a strong background in Python programming and extensive experience in automated platform migrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions to streamline our migration processes and enhance overall efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of software development principles, automation frameworks, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of automation solutions using Python as Cigna migrates from Vmware VRA to Cloudbolt.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project objectives for platform migrations.
• Conduct replication coding to roll in the Cloudbolt platform.
• Develop and maintain automated migration scripts, tools, and frameworks to facilitate seamless transitions between platforms.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of automation solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, helping to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Work closely with infrastructure and operations teams to integrate automation solutions into existing systems and processes.
• Monitor and optimize automation workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Python programming is REQUIRED.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Vmware VRA is REQUIRED.
• Proven track record of successfully leading platform migration projects from conception to completion.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, best practices, and quality assurance principles.
• Experience with automated platform migrations is REQUIRED.
• Experience migrating from Vmware VRA to Cloudbolt is a huge PLUS.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
