Job Description
BAE Systems' F-35 Lightning II program has an opportunity for a software engineer to deliver the functionality to process, manage, and visualize prognostics health management (PHM) data. Our work is critical to the continued success of the F-35 program and is highly visible to our Lockheed Martin partners and military operators.
The US Structures and Prognostics Health Management (SPHM) team is comprised of over ten engineers with diverse technical backgrounds directly interfacing with our UK-based counterparts as well as our Lockheed Martin customer. The successful candidate will take ownership of developing F-35 structures reporting capabilities for the team and ensure that the related functionality we provide meets customer expectations through leveraging appropriate engineering approaches and standards. A collaborative, flexible, and critical mind, along with exceptional communication skills are essential elements for this role.
Typical Daily Work
- Architect and implement software solutions that integrate with SPHM data analysis engines and reporting capabilities
- Develop Python toolset to replace legacy toolset
- Develop understanding of F-35 structures and their relevance to the F-35 program
- Perform code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Work with junior software engineers to help formalize their prior development experience into an Agile methodology using the Atlassian suite of Confluence, Jira, and BitBucket
- Gain understanding of internal processes and tools to assist in process improvement and automation
- Understand, manipulate, and summarize large amounts of F-35 structures data
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Strategic thinker, team player and well-rounded problem solver
Experience with Python
Agile Software Development
Experience with Atlassian suite (or equivalent)
Detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
Experience in effectively working independently while in a remote environment

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
