Role Description
In this role you will design, develop, modify, adapt, and implement short- and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems, databases, and applications infrastructure. You will review and interpret system requirements and business processes as well as code, test, debug, and implement software solutions. You will be working closely with Quants, Portfolio Managers, and Analysts to discuss requirements, testing strategies. You will be involved in design and technical discussions with the team and quants, to develop solutions for the PMs/Analysts to make business critical decisions in a timely basis. The applications being built will be leveraged daily across Front Office Investment folks.
Responsibilities:
- Using internal tooling to manage services running in AWS
- Integrating with RESTful and GRPC APIs
- Unit testing, integration testing, contributing to maintaining and constantly improving the CI/CD pipeline
- Understanding business requirements and translating them into technical requirements
Additional Responsibilities:
- Leading a small project team, as required
- Mentoring junior members of the team
Business Knowledge
- Able to work directly with business partners
- Decisions show a focus on current and future business priorities, together with fiscal responsibility
- Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
Requirements
- Typically requires a BS or MS degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of progressive software development experience
- Development experience with Java and/or Python (Python required)
- Experience on RDBMS like PostgreSQL, SQL Server
- Experience building modern data and analytics systems in a financial services organization
