Senior Python/Spark Developer, AVP

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a strong hands-on Senior Python and Spark Developer to modernize applications and processes in Portfolio Exposures area at State Street Global Advisors. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Applications Development, Coding, and Support and be a technical subject matter expert. The candidate should be familiar with the full SDLC cycle and be able to work with various cross-functional teams globally.

As AVP - Senior Python-Spark Developer, You Will

• Develop and support applications primarily based in Python, Spark, PySpark, SQL, and AWS Cloud Databases
• Take ownership for delivery of assigned tasks
• Co-ordinate with various cross-functional teams globally including business analysts, testers, enterprise architects, and infrastructure teams
• Provide subject matter expertise
• Work in Agile environment

These Skills Will Help You Succeed In This Role

• Strong experience in Application Development
• Strong experience in working with BigData
• Strong in Python, Spark, PySpark
• Strong in Database Design, SQL, and PLSQL
• Familiarity with Databricks platform is a plus
• Experience in Cloud Computing specifically AWS is a plus
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Development (CI/CD) stack
• Familiarity with Java is a plus
• Familiarity with Shell scripting and Job Scheduling knowledge is a plus
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong interest in working on new technologies and tools
• Financial services industry experience especially in asset management is a plus

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field is required.
• Minimum 5+ years experience required in software development and maintenance
