Position Overview

Bonfy.AI is seeking a skilled Senior Python Backend Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a cloud platform deployed as SAAS product, back-end services, APIs, third party integrations, and supporting the front-end developers by integrating their work with the Python application.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and maintenance of scalable and high-performance backend systems using Python and Javascript.
• Writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code that follows software engineering best practices.
• Data modeling and usage of different cloud data services and databases.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in Python development and software engineering.
• Develop and maintain APIs using up to date API tools and methodologies, using standards like OpenAPI.
• Integrate with NLP/analytics engines.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs.
• Design and develop distributed applications.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Implement security and data protection.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Support ML team and provide frameworks to run ML models in distributed environments.
• Participate in code reviews and team meetings.

Technical Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on work experience in programming, of which at least 3 years using Python.
• At least 2 years of databases experience including PostgreSQL and Schema-less databases.
• Experience working with AWS technologies, networking, and security practices.
• Strong experience with at least one Python web framework (such as Django, Flask, FastAPI).
• Familiarity with ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries.
• Strong unit test and debugging skills.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.

• Applicants must be able to work in a hybrid mode at our office located in Mountain View, California.
