Senior Python Engineer

Position Overview

We are currently working with an Irish owned company that is actively looking for an experienced backend engineer to join their team. The team has grown substantially in the past 12 months and is now looking for an established Python engineer to join their engineering team. The role will involve working with the latest technologies, AI projects, and working closely with senior management. It is a senior role and will require at least five years of experience. The role allows for hybrid working.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based integration solutions to connect disparate systems and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and design efficient solutions.
• Implement RESTful APIs, message queues, and other integration patterns to facilitate seamless data exchange.
• Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure smooth operation of integrated systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and mentorship activities to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve integration processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience
• Proficiency in Python programming language and experience with relevant frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
• Unit testing experience
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or ActiveMQ.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
