As a key member, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and create the tooling to create GIS data with a focus on navigation. Your responsibilities will include analysing spatial data, developing custom geoprocessing scripts and tools, designing interactive web maps, and integrating GIS functionalities into existing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS technologies, proficiency in programming languages such as Python, experience with GIS software and a proven track record of delivering high-quality GIS solutions. Your Role
- Develop and maintain GIS applications to create new spatial/navigation data from various sources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and implement geodatabases (PostGIS), spatial data models, and data management workflows.
- Write custom geoprocessing scripts and tools using Python.
- Create interactive web maps and applications using Open Source and Industry standard tools.
- Perform data manipulation, transformation, and analysis tasks using GIS software.
- Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and industry trends.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in GIS development or a related role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with using Python libraries for Geo-data Manipulations.
- Strong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data analysis techniques, and cartographic principles.
- Knowledge of web development technologies and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working with open data such as OpenStreetMap and Overture, web scraping and deep learning will be considered as a plus.
