A client of ours, Medtech startup based in Amsterdam, are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their thriving team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll create and manage the infrastructure powering our products, collaborating with Frontend and DevOps Engineers to ensure scalability and reliability.

What you'll be doing

• Design and deploy scalable backend systems to support their products
• Develop and manage micro-services for internal and external clients
• Collaborate with teams to ensure system availability, scalability, and security
• Work closely with DevOps for continuous software delivery
• Enhance platform architecture and functionality
• Maintain system documentation and mentor junior team members
• Stay updated with the latest technologies

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience
• Excellent English communication skills

Tech Stack

Cloud-native approach with AWS and Azure

Angular for web front-end, Django/Wagtail for CMS

Python for microservices and AI

Knowledge in Neo4j, SQL, NoSQL, and ML techniques
