Senior Python Developer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer with a strong background in the Django framework and a keen interest in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both back-end and some front-end development, with a focus on building robust, scalable, and efficient solutions. As a key member of our development team, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing high-quality software solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs using Python and the Django framework
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement front-end components and user interfaces
• Utilize cloud technologies, particularly AWS, to deploy and manage scalable infrastructure
• Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions and API Gateway configurations
• Implement and optimize database solutions using Postgres for back-end storage
• Build and maintain unit test guidelines and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our development processes and methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Extensive experience developing web applications using Python and the Django framework
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and experience deploying applications in cloud environments
• Proficiency with AWS Lambda and API Gateway configurations
• Strong understanding of relational databases, with experience working with Postgres for back-end storage
• Experience with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript would be advantageous
• Prior experience in the financial services industry would be a significant plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
