Senior Python Engineer

I am partnered with a well-funded and fast-growing B2B SaaS start-up who’s mission is to make the onboarding and hiring of staff as efficient and easy as possible. Last year they raised £2 million in seed round on their journey to become the number one company for employment verification.

Role

  • The main responsibility will be to build and deploy API's, you will be expected to create with a product mindset as our end user experience is paramount.
  • Build and deploy APIs for interconnected services
  • Design APIs for clients and partners (authentication / versioning / documentation)
  • Design and develop ETL pipelines using Python and AWS services
  • Help prioritise our backlog with a balance between short-term deliverables and longer-term investment in our technology
  • Effectively communicate trade-offs to other areas of the business
  • Collaborate with the whole development team to influence system architecture and feature design
  • Design, test, and deploy new features in a continuous and iterative manner
  • Work autonomously on projects from start to finish, and be responsible for the code you write. You build it, you run it.

Key Requirements

  • Several years experience as a backend engineer
  • Experience with AWS: ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS/SQS
  • Strong testing practices, especially Test Driven Development
  • Experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns
  • An end-to-end systems-mindset; we are building a product that should grow itself and require minimal intervention from our team
  • Experience working in a close knit, collaborative, rapidly growing team
  • The ability to work in a highly agile environment, using CI/CD practices
  • A passion for creating products that are user-friendly and contribute to our product-led growth strategy
  • A knack for identifying good UX
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Nice to have: Experience with Event Driven Architecture and System architecture
