Due to ongoing growth, they require a Senior DevOps Engineer, comfortable working in alignment with EU time zones. The role is fully remote.
Role
As primary DevOps Engineer for the firm's European markets you will play a key part in building, deploying, and supporting cutting-edge systems responsible for executing millions of trades on various CeFi and DeFi venues across the globe. In addition to supporting these trading systems you will implement solutions with a focus on security, resilience and that meet operational challenges in this fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve global infrastructure with respect to high performance and reliability requirements.
- Improve and update the security infrastructure of a widely distributed company that operates in a high-risk environment.
- Engage and collaborate with other teams for system design discussions and improving DevOps processes.
- Development of internal tools and automation to accomplish infrastructure team goals.
- Application tuning and troubleshooting; you will keep abreast of changes to trading system features and deployment, providing guidance to developers looking to improve their application performance or reliability.
Requirements
- An SRE/DevOps Engineer with 5+ years' experience with Linux systems in a high-performance environment.
- Familiarity with DeFi and cryptocurrencies and/or experience with RPC nodes and APIs at various levels of development and maturity.
- A strong interest in cryptocurrency and finance in general is desired.
- Cloud management using Terraform, with experience in the AWS environment and ideally Azure.
- Proficiency in Linux engineering and configuration management using Ansible.
- A strong background in container management, deployment, and orchestration. Kubernetes experience is good to have, strong basic docker skills are required.
- Expanding internal deployment of a Prometheus/Grafana stack to improve observability will be an early project.
- A strong baseline understanding of network principals - TCP/IP and host-level networking is expected. Knowledge of networking management and routing in a cloud environment is a plus.
- Ideally, you'll have experience with low-level performance tuning across physical hardware, cloud instances, and network latency. Coding: Extensive Python & BASH is essential. JavaScript/Typescript or Go experience, nice to have. Role involves significant automation and API coding.
- Cybersecurity: Cloud security & IAM policies. SIEM & threat management. Network security & zero-trust principles. Must know how to secure Mac and Linux endpoints. Software supply chain security along with an understanding of vulnerability and secret scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
- Polished Communication and Interpersonal skills along with a can-do attitude.
- Bachelor's or master's level degree in computer science, mathematics, or relevant field.
- A history of good tenure in your career history (e.g., 2+ years average).
Role Description
This role would be suited to an experienced DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer with exposure to Blockchain, DeFi, Web3 concepts and systems or, at least experience within a high-performance trading systems environment.
