Requirements and responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our dynamic company.

What you'll do:

  • Build new data products and enhance a suite of quantitative factors and models.
  • Work with our specialized quantitative research team to deliver a variety of proprietary and unique datasets.
  • Highly involved in product role for our quantitative investment clients and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop cloud-based data ingestion processes using SQL, Python, and PowerShell, etc.
  • Engineer data models and infrastructure for a wide variety of market and alternative datasets.
  • Author tests to validate data quality and the stability of the data acquisition processes.
  • Work directly with Analyst, Product Specialist, and technology team to understand requirements and provide end-to-end data solutions.
  • Communicate with data providers to onboard new datasets and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Investigate and defuse time-sensitive data incidents.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, data, and programming skills (Python, SQL, NoSQL, JavaScript).
  • 3+ years of experience with large datasets ETL and techniques to architect them for performance, experience using alternative unstructured data is a plus.
  • 1+ year of experience with cloud computing services, experience with cloud technologies such as AWS S3, Lambda, RDS, SageMaker, or EMR preferred.
  • Aptitude for designing infrastructure, and data products for Quant/Data Scientists is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in an agile environment with numerous stakeholders on complex research and new development projects.
  • Financial industry or investment business experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, must be a team player.
  • Candidate must be proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, R, Python, pandas, numpy, SciPy, etc. packages.
