Job Description

We are currently recruiting for experienced QA Automation Engineer to join us here at Genomics England.

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will possess a high level of proficiency in Python, Selenium WebDriver, TDD/BDD testing frameworks, and a solid understanding of agile methodologies.

Using these skills, you will ensure our products are reliable and impactful for our NHS & Research partners.

It is essential that you have proficient Python skills for this role.

This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python and Selenium WebDriver to ensure the quality of our software products.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
  • Implement and integrate TDD and BDD testing frameworks into the software development lifecycle for efficient and effective testing.
  • Work within an agile team to conduct thorough regression, functional, and performance testing to identify and report defects or issues.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure automation best practices and coding standards are followed.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for automated test cases, testing processes, and results.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automated testing using Python and Selenium WebDriver.
  • Strong knowledge of TDD and BDD testing frameworks.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.

Qualifications

QA or testing certifications are desirable but not essential.

Blended Working Model

Genomics England operates a blended working model as we know our people appreciate the flexibility. We expect most people to come into the office 2 times each month as a minimum. However, this will vary according to role and will be agreed with your team leader.

There is no expectation that staff will return to the office full time unless they want to, however, some of our roles require you to be on site full time e.g., lab teams, reception team.

Our teams and squads have, and will continue to, reflect on what works best for them to work together successfully and have the freedom to design working patterns to suit, beyond the minimum. Our office locations are Canary Wharf, Cambridge, and Leeds.
