About The Opportunity

The Ignition Software Developer is responsible for providing development resources for Ignition applications used in the manufacturing process.

In this role, the successful candidate:

  • Leverage the Ignition and Perspective platforms to develop software solutions to solve business needs.
  • Monitor and maintain high levels of security, reliability, and performance of the Ignition Gateway as well as all projects.
  • Performs complex and precise troubleshooting to pinpoint root causes for issues identified by the manufacturing and support teams.
  • Participates in the agile development process (SCRUM).
  • Works with end users to identify areas of improvement for the Ignition applications.
  • Participates in blueprinting, requirements gathering, and other planning functions for new projects.
  • Performs code review to verify changes made by other developers.
  • Adheres to work instructions as needed. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and establishes open communication with supervisor and manager.
  • Ensures that all company safety rules are followed.
  • Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Bachelor of Science degree with Computer Science, Information Technology, or related combination of experience and education required.
  • Certified with Ignition 8.0 or greater (preferred).
  • Proven experience working with Perspective.
  • Experience using GitHub.
  • Experience integrating Ignition with PLCs for the purpose of control and reporting.
  • Experience in Java and/or Python development.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex, technical concepts.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude and analytical propensity.
  • Proven ability to manage projects to completion.
  • Must be able to work independently with general supervision and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
