About The Opportunity

The Ignition Software Developer is responsible for providing development resources for Ignition applications used in the manufacturing process.

In this role, the successful candidate:

Leverage the Ignition and Perspective platforms to develop software solutions to solve business needs.
Monitor and maintain high levels of security, reliability, and performance of the Ignition Gateway as well as all projects.
Performs complex and precise troubleshooting to pinpoint root causes for issues identified by the manufacturing and support teams.
Participates in the agile development process (SCRUM).
Works with end users to identify areas of improvement for the Ignition applications.
Participates in blueprinting, requirements gathering, and other planning functions for new projects.
Performs code review to verify changes made by other developers.
Adheres to work instructions as needed. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and establishes open communication with supervisor and manager.
Ensures that all company safety rules are followed.
Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be successful?

Bachelor of Science degree with Computer Science, Information Technology, or related combination of experience and education required.
Certified with Ignition 8.0 or greater (preferred).
Proven experience working with Perspective.
Experience using GitHub.
Experience integrating Ignition with PLCs for the purpose of control and reporting.
Experience in Java and/or Python development.
Comfortable working in an agile environment.
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex, technical concepts.
Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Technical aptitude and analytical propensity.
Proven ability to manage projects to completion.
Must be able to work independently with general supervision and as a member of a team.
Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.
Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
