Overview
SMBC/JRI America (Tralee, Ireland) is in the process of leading a Digital Transformation across our Americas Division as we continue to modernize our technology, focus on our data driven approach, grow and plan for the future. As a result of this expansion we are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our Risk Technology Team. You will work on a wide variety of data capture, analysis, and automation projects. The technology stack is primarily Python, with Django as the web framework, hosted on Microsoft Azure. There may also be requirements to use rapid development tools, such as Power Apps and Power BI for reporting, from time to time to support client needs.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently plan, design and develop technical solutions to meet business requirements in conjunction with client standards and best practices.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to analyze and refine requirements.
- Provide robust and elegant solutions (using Python) to the problems that have been presented to you.
- Ensure that all code is thoroughly unit-tested and that code reviews are performed.
- Coordinate implementation of changes through the SDLC, including installation into production.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Represent the team in wider project discussions and meetings.
- Provide support for operations, delivery, and application teams to remediate issues as appropriate.
Qualifications
4+ years of prior software development experience ideally centered around Python. Prior experience with Building/Deploying containerized software (preferably Python) on modern DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Experience with MS-SQL or other SQL (or No-SQL) database architectures. Experience with Agile (and SDLC) Methodologies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer Science Degree (or equivalent).
It would be helpful if you have:
- Experience using modern data science, data rangling, modelling, analytic and RPA software platforms (e.g. Anaconda, Databricks, Domino, Altryx, TriFacta, UI Path, DataRobot).
- Experience building and deploying solutions on Cloud Platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience working in the Banking/Hedge Fund industry.
