Job Description

AP Capital is a global hedge fund, which trades across equities, ETFs, derivatives, fixed income and others with more than 500m USD assets under management. We are looking for a skilled Python Developer to join our team in North York. The role comes with a competitive salary, great benefits and opportunity for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Python development for transaction / position / balancesheet data and market data (including prices, taxes, interest, exchange rate data) from the company's front-end systems and trading platforms.
  • Python development to automate & build solutions for daily reconciliation (Data Reconciliation) of the company's transactions, positions, transfer settlements, fees, and commissions. Monthly reconciliation of account balances, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with clients (Clients), service providers (Vendors), brokerage agents (Brokers), and trading counterparts for daily communication and handling issues found in data reconciliation.
  • Cleaning and standardizing transaction and transfer data, generating reports in line with financial and audit requirements.
  • Providing service and support to front-end traders, responsible for explaining and communicating transaction, position, risk, and PnL data, and making necessary data corrections.
  • Work with operation personnel to verify transfer settlement data.
  • Collaborating with risk managers, controllers, accounting team and auditing team, respond to data/ reports related inquiries, explain, investigate data related issue.

Skills Requested

  • Expert in Python development, able to code production level software solutions.
  • Familiar with SQL, can use relational database efficiently.
  • Familiar with Excel, can use Excel process data and generate report efficiently.
  • Have strong sense of responsibilities, detail oriented, ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to understand brokers report and statements.

Qualifications

  • Finance industry experiences (like investment banking, securities, insurance related industries) is preferred.
  • Candidates one or more of the following: middle office, Futures & derivatives (Like equity, futures, forward, options, FX etc.), PnL calculation model, risk control models & accounting is preferred.
  • Candidates familiar with the trading, settlement, and custodian business processes of various financial products is preferred.
