Position Overview

We have a contract position available until December 31st, 2024. There is a possibility of extension or conversion to a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) role. The position requires a Python / Pandas Automation Developer with expertise in SQL programming. Preferred candidates would be located in California. The position is 100% remote and requires working in Pacific hours.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Expertise in Python / Pandas and Advanced SQL Operations
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, etc.
  • Knowledge of working with flat files, including handling different delimiters and escape characters

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Power BI and Power Automate (Microsoft environment)
  • Experience with APIs and SFTP jobs
  • Knowledge of Snowflake

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain complex data extracts in agreed-upon file layouts using Python, SQL, Excel, and flat files (e.g., CSV)
  • Ingest data from various internal teams and external vendors into databases
  • Automate data extract jobs and reports using Python scripts
  • Support ad hoc requests from management by running data analysis and providing information
  • Create dashboards and reports using Power BI
  • Develop scorecards for Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) and present them
  • Collaborate with different teams across the organization to fulfill data needs
  • Re-engineer data processes within the department

Performance Expectations

  • Proficient in Python/Pandas coding and SQL operations
  • Lead or own projects and communicate with internal teams and external vendors
  • Ability to multitask on multiple projects

Interface Responsibilities

  • Run, monitor, and automate data processing jobs
  • Parse data files and flat files
  • Analyze data using Python/SQL from databases like Oracle, Snowflake, Teradata, SQL Server
  • Automate jobs and re-engineer data processes within the department
  • Interact with business customers and internal teams
  • Identify organization resources and subject matter experts
  • Multitask effectively on multiple projects

Education and Software Skills Requirement

  • Education: Computer Science or equivalent
  • Software Skills: Expertise in Python, Advanced SQL, Automation, Data Analysis on RDBMS databases like Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, etc.
