Title: Python Developer

Location: Richmond, Va or McLean, Va - Hybrid onsite role

Duration: 24 months with possible extension

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Python Developer who will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting our applications hosted on the AWS platform.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Python programming, experience with AWS services, and a solid understanding of production support practices.

Develop and maintain Python-based applications deployed on the AWS platform.
Implement new features and enhancements to existing applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner to ensure system availability and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement changes.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards in all development and support activities.
Document technical designs, processes, and procedures.

Proven experience as a Python developer, with expertise in developing web applications and services.
Strong understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
Previous experience in a production support role, with a focus on troubleshooting and resolving issues in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
