Working Hours: 9-5 PM or 10-6 PM EST

Overview

CloseBiz is looking for an experienced Python Developer to join our technology-driven team. This role is essential for developing back-end components, connecting applications with other web services, and supporting the front-end developers by integrating their work with the Python application. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and expertise in Python, along with a commitment to collaborative problem solving and sophisticated design.

Key Responsibilities

• Write effective, scalable code that drives web applications.
• Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance.
• Integrate user-facing elements into applications.
• Test and debug programs.
• Improve functionality of existing systems.
• Implement security and data protection solutions.
• Assess and prioritize feature requests.
• Coordinate with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions.

Technical Requirements

Core Skills & Knowledge

• Expert knowledge of Python and related frameworks including Django and Flask.
• Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries.
• Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system.
• Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, as well as multi-process architecture.
• Good understanding of server-side templating languages such as Jinja 2, Mako.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong unit test and debugging skills.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of software development experience, preferably in Python.
• Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and the full web technology stack (HTTP, cookies, asset loading, caching, REST, etc.).
• Familiarity with front-end development frameworks such as Angular or React considered a plus.
