Must-haves
- 4+ years of experience as a Python Developer with a focus on automation
- Hands-on coding experience with Python, particularly in an operations and monitoring domain
- Experience with IT infrastructure DevOps tools such as Ansible (highly preferred), Chef is acceptable
- Experience with APIs to perform third-party integrations
- Experience with deploying cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Demonstrated ability to work across boundaries in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment and deliver results
- Experience with Docker, including spinning up and down Docker containers
- Familiarity with Django and building functions within it
- Experience with monitoring tools and building automations around alerts
Plusses
- Experience with AWS (especially migrating applications from on-prem to AWS)
- Front-end/full-stack development skills
- Experience with Citrix/AWS
Day-to-Day
An enterprise-level asset management firm is seeking a Python Automation Developer to join their team. As a Python Automation Developer, you will play a role in ensuring the overall health, reliability, and automation of critical components of the software infrastructure and services. You will be responsible for understanding the existing infrastructure and suggesting improvements without reinventing the wheel. This includes research/strategy, requirements/planning, building/testing, and run/support. You will be the final point of escalation for complex and time-sensitive operational issues. In addition, provide strong technical and thought leadership across the organization. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extensions based on performance. This role is more of a support role, with a focus on making suggestions for improvement rather than taking over the development. You will be building out code against APIs and should be comfortable with the tech stack of the application: Python, Django, Docker, and AWS if possible.
