Job Title: Senior Product Engineer
Irvine, CA: Prefer a hybrid role with availability to travel to Irvine ca at least 2 times a week but we are open to remote if highly qualified. Open for candidates who are ready to relocate at their own expense.
- Will do more of architecture and foundation.
- Exp working with front end and backend developers.
- AWS in and out exp.
- Will be working on EHR system used for clinical development.
- Lead software developer or product engineer will work for this role.
- Cloud management tools.
- Able to lead devops process.
- Pharma exp is not a must have.
- Someone who can understand the architecture.
- Possibility of extension or conversion depending on performance.
- Heavy exp with architecture product from engineering standpoint.
- Work with QA teams.
- API gateways.
- Someone who has worked on a product for 6 min years.
- Product that they will be working is based on clinical development and clinical trials.
- Terraform exp.
- Working with VP and director level people as well.
Purpose
Digital Science within Clinical Innovation is an ambitious team of Data Scientists, Data/ML Engineers, 3D modelers, statisticians and UX/UI experts with a unique blend of Business, Scientific, and Machine Learning expertise that seeks to unleash the full potential of client’s unstructured data assets by bringing technology and/or Models and insights to the forefront of decision making via fit-for-purpose tools, products or models. Of these at the forefront is our product Aptios a one stop shop for all the tools needed in the clinical development process. The Senior Product Engineer will lead Data/ML engineers and is a key technical leadership role to enable, recommend and code best recommendation for current application, upkeep, maintain and improve product through standardized release.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of aptios product from engineering standpoint, maintain and improve on current products Cloud infrastructure and design leveraging mainly as cloud source AWS.
- Design, build, and deploy updated versions of the product with guidance from the business units.
- Drive the latency, robustness, and scalability, and provide guidance to improve retrieval latency and throughput by making best use of AWS and Machine Learning infrastructure.
- Advise on A/B testing and experimental frameworks. Drive the adoption and building of comprehensive benchmarks to quantify our search quality, gap, and differentiation.
- Lead Engineering team in all aspects of Governance, quality, Devops and more. Current stack used is aws ec2 instances, pytorch and tensorflow models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in statistics, mathematics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science, computer science or equivalent field with 10+ years (BS), 8+ years (MS) or 6+ years (PhD) of Experience.
- Experience with Amazon Web services such as api gateway, cloud front, lambda, sagemaker. Experience with terraform.
- Experience with massive unstructured Data Management, Master Data Management.
- Experience with large healthcare data systems or clinical development system is a plus.
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, Python,PHP, View, Scala, C, C++, C#, Swift/Objective C, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with tensorflow, pytorch models.
- Proven track record of developing products for production-ready recommendation or predictions.
- End-to-end experience with data, including querying, aggregation, analysis, and visualization.
- Good communication and presentation skills, being able to explain complex problems and the solutions applied, and comfortable in presenting technical solutions to a nontechnical audience.
- Ability to effectively interact and influence all levels of management in a cross-functional setting.
- Proven leadership traits with ability to lead and inspire staff, and to influence others without direct authority.
- Biotech / Pharma experience is a plus.
