Optical Engineer/Scientist (Python & C/C++)

Project Description

As a software/optical engineer in our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining control software for our projects in instrumentation. Will Be part of a team that will support the integration of novel metrology solutions and communicate design decisions and strategies to a cross-functional team. Will Simulate how optical properties of the devices under test can be influenced by the manufacturing tolerances of the instrument.

Responsibilities

• Development of lab and factory software for enabling calibration and testing of our products
• Engaging with cross-functional teams of optical engineers and algorithm developers to understand system performance metrics.
• Thorough understanding of the calibration process of our instruments-Quantifying the impact of hardware effects on system performance by executing various experiments.
• Documentation of initial proof of concept findings and calibration process
• Bringing clean code software practices to the team and system software

Mandatory Skills Description

• Optical concepts knowledge such as lenses, chromatic aberration, optical system modeling, spectroscopy
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB for data analysis
• C/C++/Objective C (regular)
• Knowledge & experience of image processing

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Enthusiasm to learn and work in a cross-functional team
• Ability to build strong relationships with x-functional teams and vendors.
• Communication and presentation skills.
