Wall Street Concepts (WSC) provides tax information reporting solutions to the financial industry for REMICs, Pass Through Mortgage-Backed Securities, Long term OID bonds, Master Limited Partnerships, mutual funds, REITs, Unit Investment Trusts, and Widely Held Fixed Investment Trusts (WHFITs). Our services facilitate the production of Forms 1099 and K-1, as well as the preparation of individual tax returns.

What you will be doing

  • This primary skill set required for this position is Advance Python (hands on) and should have the ability to build new application in Python as well understand existing applications developed.
  • Design and develop software product for batch processing applications in Python/Perl.
  • Hands on Knowledge and expertise in Unix and at least one RDBMS.
  • Write clean, maintainable code following best practices (unit testing, source control, continuous integration, design patterns, etc.)
  • Understand enhancement requests for the existing products.
  • Should possess thorough impact analysis skills and should be adaptive to learn new technologies.

What you bring:

Knowledge / Experience

  • Proven experience in backend development with minimum 4-6 years of coding experience of development in Python programs.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of work experience with UNIX /Linux environment.
  • 3-5 years of database work experience with any major RDBMS. (preferred Sybase/MYSQL/MariaDB)
  • Knowledge on any version control tool (Subversion, GIT).
  • Good finance domain knowledge (Capital markets)
  • Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Concepts.
  • Knowledge on tools like JIRA/Crucible.
  • Should analyze and develop or write programs and/or modules in Python and Perl.
  • Knowledge on Unit test automation for python and Perl application
  • Should investigate and solve issues independently.
  • Should be able to work as individual contributor.
  • Knowledge of the financial services
  • Knowledge on NoSQL DB (MongoDB)
  • Should possess strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in flexible working hours if needed.

Skills

  • Key skills – Python (hands on) – intermediate to advance, Unix – intermediate to advance, Database (Sybase or MYSQL) - intermediate to advance.
  • Experienced in development and maintenance of applications in Python and Perl

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Understanding of Agile/Non-agile methodology
