Lead Data Engineer - Remote

Job Details

Must have: Data architecture, data integration, and data warehousing, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Python & Serverless SQL

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and Design: Develop and implement end-to-end data architecture solutions on Azure, ensuring they meet business requirements and industry standards.
• Data Integration: Lead the design and implementation of data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
• Data Warehousing: Architect and manage data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics, optimizing performance and scalability.
• Data Storage: Utilize Azure Blob Storage for efficient data storage and retrieval, ensuring data is organized and accessible.
• Data Processing: Implement data processing solutions using serverless SQL, ensuring efficient and cost-effective data handling.
• Delta Lake: Design and manage Delta Lake tables to ensure data reliability and performance.
• Programming and Scripting: Use Python and Notebooks for data manipulation, analysis, and automation tasks.
• Best Practices: Promote and implement best practices in data architecture and data management, including data governance, security, and compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
• Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 12-15 years of experience in data architecture, data integration, and data warehousing.
• Azure Expertise: Extensive experience with Azure Data Services, including ADF, ADLS, Azure Synapse, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Notebooks, Serverless SQL, and Delta Lake Tables.
• Architecture Knowledge: Strong understanding of data/application architecture concepts and best practices.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect).
• Project Management: Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in specific industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, retail) where data architecture plays a critical role.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
