Junior Python Developer

Job Description

Our valued crown corporation client is looking for a Junior Python Developer to support the implementation of a COTS application!

Initial 1-year contract, with a strong possibility of extension for a maximum 3 year term. Hybrid (8 days/month) on-site in downtown Ottawa, ON. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support activities for various cash processing applications. This includes, helping to resolve, triage, and redirect incidents and service requests, as required
• Work with a scrum team on various software initiatives. This includes, new deployments, bug fixes, enhancements, and upgrades related to various Commercial off-the shelf (COTS) applications and their integrations
• Assist team on various Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities, including software development, testing, and deployment

Must-have Skills:

• 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a software developer working with and supporting COTS applications
• Demonstrated experience with Python, Git, Mulesoft, or SQL
• Demonstrated experience with code development, unit testing, and overall project support
• Demonstrated experience with agile / scrum and devops

Nice-to-have Skills:

• Demonstrated experience working with currency specific/physical cash management or similar COTS applications, or system integrations
• Demonstrated knowledge of Agile/Scrum and DevOps methodologies
• Demonstrated experience working with SharePoint
