Your Role
Tenable is seeking a talented FinOps Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role demands a creative problem-solver with hands-on Python expertise and a passion for automating processes that drive efficiency across our FinOps landscape. This is a hands-on role focused on developing scripts, tools, and automations to optimize cloud resource utilization and costs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with AWS cloud services and strong programming skills in Python.
Your Opportunity
- Analyze cloud usage patterns and identify opportunities for optimization and automation
- Design and develop Python scripts/programs to automate cloud operations tasks (e.g. provisioning, monitoring, cost tracking)
- Integrate with cloud APIs (AWS) to build custom tools, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate key FinOps metrics to stakeholders
- Contribute to improving processes and operational excellence
What You'll Need
- 1-2 years of professional experience working with AWS cloud services
- Understanding of AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3, etc)
- Strong proficiency in Python programming language
- Demonstrated ability to work with APIs (RESTful APIs preferred) for data acquisition and manipulation
- A strong drive for efficiency and automation focused mindset
- Self-motivated with a passion for automation and coding
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
And Ideally
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight, or similar)
- Knowledge of data engineering/ETL processes
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Previous experience in a FinOps, DevOps or SRE role

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $96,000.00 - $128,000.00 USD. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
