Service Description: Data plays a key role in supporting these evolutions Company: increasingly, data is an enabler for the decision making process (operational, tactical, strategic). However, we are facing a number of data-related challenges, which is why the Company wants to focus on, among other things like Setting up data domains. All of the company's data is assigned to a domain, to which an owner is assigned. The owner then becomes accountable for the data in his domain. He is supported by the data steward, who is responsible for monitoring data quality etc. The switch from IT-led data products, to business-led data products. Responsibility for qualitative, timely data products will lie with the business. The development of the data products is then done through multidisciplinary (business and IT) teams that include the data steward. Extensive training and coaching, including for the data stewards, in order to transition and support. Governance of all this is important and will be set up (incl for data stewards).
Tasks:
- Have an understanding of the business processes for which he/she assumes the role of data steward
- For a specific business activity, capture and document the Business Concepts, the Business Terms, the Business and Data Quality Rules, the Business Lineage under which they fall, their Business Impact, etc., so that the current level of data management for that activity can be measured (KPIs), e.g. via dashboards
- Lead root cause analysis (root cause analysis) when the current value of a KPI does not match the target value
- Propose, coordinate and follow up the implementation of solutions (curative actions or longterm solutions); for this you are in close contact with business and IT
- You will support the data owner within his domain and contribute to the development of products
Requirements:
- You are familiar with the electricity sector or are able to quickly gain an understanding of this sector and its underlying concepts
- You have several years of experience as a data steward
- You have experience in SQL, Python, ... or analytical tools
- You are familiar with data models and IT architecture
- With your analytical skills, you tackle complex problems in a simple and structured way
- You are familiar (processes & tools) with data management, data quality management, metadata management. Concepts such as business glossary; data lineage, data contracts, ... hold no secrets for you
- You are proactive and have a sense of responsibility
- You have a hands-on mentality
- With your communication skills, you make workshops run smoothly, taking a leadership role when necessary
- You enjoy working with others and are a team player
- You have great powers of persuasion
- You are fluent in Dutch and/or French and have a command of English

Additional Information
- Start: ASAP, approx. 8 months, extension possible
- Workload: 5 days per week
- Location: Working location will be mainly in the Brussels area (homeworking possible 2-3 days a week) and on-site in Belgium occasionally
