Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with the analysis of biological data, including single cell RNA-seq analysis and multi-omics integration. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research projects and make a significant impact on the development of new therapies in the area of immunology and respiratory diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform bulk and single cell RNA-seq data analysis, including quality control, normalization, clustering, and differential expression analysis as well as downstream analyses like pathway activation, trajectory, and ligand receptor analysis.
  • Assist with the integration of multi-omics data, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, to uncover novel biological insights.
  • Interpret and visualize complex biological data to generate actionable insights for ongoing research projects.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build, maintain and extend Shiny applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in bioinformatics and data analysis techniques, and develop innovative analysis approaches to improve existing workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data analysis workflows and pipelines.
  • Treat data with a high level of integrity, comply with all applicable regulations and maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and company policies.

Skills

  • Strong programming skills in R and/or Python and prior experience building Shiny web applications.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and high-performance computing clusters, including experience with UNIX shell scripting and Nextflow pipelines.
  • Prior experience conducting single cell RNA-seq data analysis, including the use of popular tools and packages (e.g., Seurat, Scanpy) is required.
  • Proficiency in multi-omics data integration and prior experience with spatial data analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to handle large and complex datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce well-designed and documented code and to troubleshoot both individually and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear, transparent, timely and consistent manner and to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Education

Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field OR Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in a STEM discipline.
