Data Scientist Opportunity in Houston
We have been retained by our client in Houston to deliver a Data Scientist on a long-term contract basis or contract to hire basis, to work onsite an excellent office environment and culture that is found at our clients location. We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our clients ML, AI, big data team. They will enable you to experience significant technical growth as well as career growth on this team working on data science algorithms, machine learning (ML) and AI, with Python and APIs.
- Work independently on data science / ML projects, ML Ops for multiple business functions
- Identify and frame the data science / ML opportunity from understanding the business problem / and the opportunity to solve problems or provide improvements
- Gather, cleanse, and transform internal and external data
- Analyze data and deliver insights via visualizations and dashboards
- Create, productionize, and maintain models / solutions that address business problems
- Present, explain and defend results from analysis and modeling, and approach taken
- Participate in strategic planning discussions around optimizations, data science and big data analytics
Required Experience
- 5+ years of practical experience framing and solving business problems including data science, supply chain, logistics, or operations with probability / statistics, data analysis, data visualization, Git, Linux shell, Unix shell scripts, MLOps, Python, Software Engineering, SQL, python ML, python APIs.
- 5+ years professional experience programming production code in Python
- Software engineering skills - best practices of software design, API design, knowledge of design patterns, version control, and production considerations such as performance, logging, maintainability, refactoring, testing and debugging
- Hands on experience with MLOps
- Experience building solutions in AWS is a plus
Desirable Experience (not required)
- AWS, AWC EC2, AWS S3, AWS Sagemaker
- Educational background in data sciences, statistics, applied mathematics, or scientific field or engineering field is a plus
Employment Details
Employment Type: Contract or contract to hire
Hourly Rate: $70.00 to $90.00 / hour w-2 employment
Location: Houston, Texas - inside the 610 Loop
