Core Python Engineer
18 Month Contract
W2 Jersey City Hybrid (3 days onsite) $60-$68/hour

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complex requirements to accomplish business goals
• Ensure software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements
• Code solutions, unit test, and integrate solutions successfully
• Implement clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces
• Familiarity with development and testing practices of the bank

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Regulatory Transaction Reporting in CFTC/EMIR/MIFID jurisdiction and experience with OTC derivative products using any OOP language
• 3-5 years of Object-Oriented Programming experience
• BS in Computer Science
• Strong knowledge of version control (e.g. git, svn)
• Experience in testing (unit, integration, etc.) and test automation
• Agile development life-cycle experience
• Strong understanding of SDLC
• Understanding of regulatory rules and applications
• Self-starter with a passion for programming, ability to work in a global team, and successful delivery of enterprise-scale projects

Desirable Skills

• Strong Python experience in a development facility like SecDB or Athena
• Distributed message system design/development
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux
• Knowledge of building and using RESTful APIs
• Exposure to Front and Middle Office functions and controls
