Backend Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing

• You will be responsible for developing ground satellite operations software using Python and AWS services.
• You will primarily be responsible for developing backend software capabilities.
• The ideal candidate has full stack experience and an interest in contributing across the software stack.
• You will develop APIs, integrate with various AWS services, and focus on scalability, security, cost, and performance of the software.
• The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and troubleshoot issues.

Tech Skills

• Proficiency in Python, GraphQL, Docker, and Terraform (or relevant IaC tools)
• Familiarity with Javascript and experience in full stack/frontend software
• Strong knowledge of designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs services, databases, caching systems, and architectures
• Experience with React components, containerized applications, and serverless architecture

Soft Skills

• Deep technical analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Independent self-starter with a high standard for software quality
• Strong cross-functional communication between frontend, backend engineers, and product managers

Background Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, full stack development, or related role
• U.S. Person status required – we are not able to sponsor Visas at this time
