As a Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the development of our ML-based software solutions. You will design, implement, and maintain high-quality, production-ready software and work closely and collaboratively with the broader software development team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze new software requirements for feasibility and complexity.
- Develop backend solutions using Python.
- Compile and analyze data, processes, and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
- Define and develop interfaces to the components (APIs) and the data models used by the systems.
- Maintain running systems in production, identify and fix bugs in them.
Technology Stack
- Frontend: React, TypeScript
- Backend: NestJS, TypeScript, Postgres, TypeORM
- Python and relevant computer vision libraries (e.g. NumPy, pandas, OpenCV, scikit-image)
- Large Language Models (e.g. GPT, LLAMA, BERT)
- Frameworks essential for training and evaluating image recognition tasks (e.g. PyTorch, Vertex AI, COCO)
- Databases: SQL, BigQuery
- Infrastructure components such as GCP, GPU, Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and CI/CD
Requirements
3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on Python and ideally with a BS/MS degree in computer science. Experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps, expertise in TypeScript and preferably with Node.js/NestJS, familiarity with cloud services, and interest in Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
