Job Opportunity: Backend Developer
Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Backend Developer for our client, a full-service experiential marketing agency in Hillsboro, OR!
This Backend Developer is being brought on to augment an ongoing ERP modernization project. You'll focus on developing APIs in Python and owning some of the DevOps work required to produce a rock solid production, test, and deployment environment.
What they offer:
- $60-70 per hour starting wage
- 6 month contract-to-hire
- Hybrid work schedule - 3 days work-from-home!

What you will be doing:
- Design, develop, and test web applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies
- Work with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Implement and maintain database systems
- Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests
- Deploy and maintain web applications in production
- Troubleshoot and debug web applications
- Keep up with the latest trends and technologies in web development
What you will need:
- 2+ years of professional experience in Backend Development
- Hands-on professional experience in Python
- Must be local to the greater Portland, OR metropolitan area
- Hands-on experience with some or all of the following: Kubernetes Helm, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, Prometheus for Logging, Docker Containers
