Back End Engineer - Python

We're R5 Labs, the tech company behind Edgemony and Product Heroes! We're looking for a talented Back End Engineer skilled in Python to join our remote team and help major American fintech companies bring their products to life. This is a pivotal role where you'll make a real impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and maintainable backend APIs using Python
• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between the user interface and our backend services
• Implement robust and secure data storage solutions using relational or NoSQL databases
• Develop and maintain automated scripts to streamline backend processes and tasks
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding best practices
• Work closely with DevOps engineers to deploy and monitor backend applications in production environments

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Python Backend Engineer or similar role
• Expertise in Python programming with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
• Experience with popular web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI (a plus)
• Experience with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure (a plus)
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for building elegant and efficient code
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team

Bonus points

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with API testing frameworks like Postman or pytest
• Experience with version control systems like Git
