Job Description

  • Location: Seattle, WA (Remote)

Job Summary and Mission

As part of the Cloud Services team, you core role will be leading the development and operations of our core cloud infrastructure. This includes all aspects of cloud services within our hybrid environment (private, Azure, AWS). The role will serve as the main operations as well as the subject matter expert for both public and private IAAS/PAAS services. Your mission is to partner with cloud providers, architects, and other infrastructure engineers in developing best practices and reference architectures to ensure resiliency, agility at defined SLA levels.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Developing shared services in python, Azure runbooks, terraform templates for application teams.
  • Building and managing shared Kubernetes on prem and public cloud Azure, AWS, Google.
  • Express Route monitoring and efficient management.
  • R&D of current and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Evaluation and POCs for core infrastructure and application teams' needs.
  • Design and Evangelism of patterns and reference architectures.
  • Vendor management and engagement within the cloud services domain.
  • Provides system analysis and recommended solutions for environment performance needs.
  • Plan, implement, and support core infrastructure with an overall objective to improve the scalability, reliability, performance, and availability of the cloud infrastructure.
  • Administrates the cloud enrollment and subscription process.
  • Monitors and escalates engineering issues to architecture team when required.
  • Ensures system performance, uptime, and support levels meet or exceed SLAs.
  • Assists project teams with capacity planning, cloud service offerings, and deployments.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect our client's business needs, security, and SLA requirements.

Technology requirements

  • Must have 8+ years over overall IT infrastructure and delivery experience.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience building highly available, scalable cloud-based platform and infrastructure for cloud native systems.
  • Must have hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platforms.
  • Must have experience in Networking, Kubernetes, Python, Terraform, and PowerShell.
